- Know all four credentials. That is task-by-task verification — not a single annual written exam, not peer sign-off, not years of experience on a resume.
- Don't forget maintenance and emergencies. NERC certificates run on a three-year cycle and are maintained by earning NERC-approved continuing education hours through the certification program. PER-005-2 R3 also addresses emergency operations training for System Operators — expect at least one question connecting training requirements to emergencies, drills, or simulation.
