Why System Restoration Shows Up on Every NERC RC Exam
Restoration is one of the highest-stakes topics in the control room and one of the most heavily tested areas on the Reliability Coordinator (RC) exam. When the Bulk Electric System (BES) partially or fully collapses, EOP-005 (Transmission Operator restoration) and EOP-006 (Reliability Coordinator restoration coordination) define who does what, who approves the plan, and how blackstart resources are tested and maintained. Test Tips: How the Exam Frames Restoration
- Know who owns which plan. Under EOP-005, the Transmission Operator (TOP) develops and maintains the restoration plan for its area.
