What is included, syllabus & completion
Buying sensors does not create an internal network monitoring program.
The difficult work is deciding what traffic matters, when an anomaly requires further action, who owns the decision, how evidence is protected, and how the monitoring design changes with the environment. This course connects those steps into one controlled operating and governance workflow.
What learners produce
- A CIP-015-1 applicability and R1.1 feed record.
- An anomaly evaluation and accepted further-action handoff.
- An R2/R3/Section C.1.2 evidence-disposition record.
- A change-review, closure, and 60-second turnover record.
Course contents
25 total learner pages: 16 instructional/tool/lab pages (including Start Here), eight scored quizzes with 45 scenario-based questions, and one post-final certificate page. Includes eight purpose-built teaching boards and a four-page accessible fillable operator record.
Time and delivery
Plan 8–10 hours for the lessons, source checks, worksheet practice, five-stage scenario, quizzes, and final. Self-paced access lasts 365 days; a completion certificate is available after course requirements are met.
Current-source boundary
FERC approved CIP-015-2 on August 10, 2026. The standard becomes effective October 1, 2029, with phased requirements on October 1, 2030, and October 1, 2031. The course teaches the approved implementation sequence and evidence-readiness work.
Implementation source control: Current approved standards, governmental orders, implementation plans, jurisdiction, approved entity procedures, and assigned authority govern implementation work.
