What is included, syllabus & completion

An emergency plan is orderly on paper. A real event arrives as alarms, partial information, competing priorities, and a clock that will not wait.

This course trains the decision sequence that matters when conditions deteriorate: recognize the state, preserve the next safe option, act within authority, coordinate across functions, verify the response, and hand off what remains unfinished.

What you will practice

  • Separate an abnormal indication from an Emergency, an EEA condition, and action authority.
  • Apply EEA 1, EEA 2, EEA 3, and Alert 0 evidence without treating an alert as switching or Firm Load-interruption authority.
  • Distinguish manual Load shedding, UFLS, and UVLS; compare expected and actual relief before the next step.
  • Verify source, Cranking Path, clearances, protection, voltage, frequency, synchronism, Load pickup, and handoff gates during restoration.
  • Assign RC, BA, TOP, GOP, TO, DP, and field roles without confusing decision authority with physical execution.
  • Select the applicable COM-002 communication mode and close its repeat-back, confirmation, reissue, receipt, or alternate-action requirements.

Course structure

Start Here plus seven concise modules provide 21 learner pages: 14 teaching and application pages, six five-question module checks, and a 10-question final assessment. The course contains 40 scored questions, 13 original instructional boards with complete text equivalents, and a four-page, 145-field fillable Emergency Decision Record.

The designed learning path is approximately seven to eight hours. Reach 80% on each module check and answer all ten final questions correctly. The all-correct final gate prevents a critical authority, device-status, synchronism, or COM-002 distinction from being missed.
