NERC TOP Operator Exam Prep 2026
Product details
When transmission margin starts to disappear, knowing the term is not enough. You have to decide what is real, what is at risk, who has authority, and what must happen next.
This course prepares Transmission Operator candidates and working utility personnel to make that decision across resource and demand balancing, limits, voltage, contingencies, switching, emergencies, restoration, and control-room communication. The emphasis is on actions an operator could defend at shift turnover—not memorized definitions without operating context.

Work the operating problem
- Separate bad data from a credible SOL, IROL, voltage, or contingency risk.
- Choose the next action, identify the authority boundary, and close the required communication loop.
- Practice switching, emergency, restoration, degraded-tool, and three-part communication decisions.
- Review every scored item with post-submission rationales and targeted remediation.
Inside the course
9 modules, 45 learner-visible lessons, 10 scored quizzes, and 140 formal practice questions. The course includes three scenario-lab sets, a one-page desk reference, a dated exam-blueprint and source ledger, an optional guided self-review routine, and a completion certificate.
Full-length exam simulation
The final simulation contains two closed-note 50-question parts. Together, the 100 original questions follow the six-domain weighting in NERC’s current Transmission Operator content outline. Correct-answer positions are balanced, earlier knowledge-check questions are not reused, and rationales remain hidden until submission.
EPG mastery standard: 80% on each simulation part. This is an internal study target—not NERC’s certification cut score—and the simulation does not reproduce or claim access to live NERC exam items.
Best fit
Transmission Operator examination candidates, TOP and TO trainees, operators moving into transmission responsibility, and utility training departments that need structured individual preparation.
