The TOP examination crosses balancing, equipment behavior, operating limits, communications, voltage control, emergencies, and restoration. Studying those topics as disconnected definitions leaves a judgment gap. Why the practice structure matters

The module work builds the operating model. The checks make you retrieve it. The simulations force you to carry that model across a longer set of decisions, then use the result to plan remediation. EPG uses an 80% practice target as a study buffer. It is not the official cut score and does not predict certification.

The TOP examination contains 120 questions: 100 scored and 20 experimental, with three hours and a cut score of 76. The course simulations model the 100 scored-question distribution. They do not reproduce the 20 experimental items, claim to be delivered exam forms, or use live exam questions.

Fit and preparation requirements

The course fits TOP examination candidates, TOP and TO trainees, operators moving into transmission responsibility, and training departments seeking structured individual preparation. Prior certification is not required. Basic power-system or utility familiarity is helpful.

Workplace source control: Employer qualification, current standards, approved procedures, facility methodologies, operating plans, assigned authority, and real-time reliability-authority direction govern workplace execution.
